For advising and challenging student government associations, Zavareh Dadabhoy, dean of Student Life and Development at Colorado State University-Pueblo, has been named the Frank Harris Outstanding Student Government Adviser award recipient by the National Association for Campus Activities.
Dadabhoy provides direction and guidance to CSU-Pueblo’s Associated Students’ Government, and inspires students to hone their leadership skills through involvement with issues affecting the campus.
The importance of taking time to complete the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) is to help build student awareness on campus.

Renowned fiction writer and poet, Steven Wingate, read some of his work during the third Southern Colorado Reading Series event on March 9 at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
Wingate, a self-proclaimed “genre hopper,” shared both old and new poetry, as well as some excerpts from his award-winning book, “Wifeshopping,” in the Cottonwood Room, in the Occhiato University Center. More than 25 people attended the event.2010 ASG election campaigns begin

Maria Meléndez, editor and publisher for the literary magazine Pilgrimage, read from her newest publication “Flexible Bones,” on Feb. 11 in the Cottonwood Room of the Occhiato University Center at CSU-Pueblo.
Southern Colorado Reading Series Coordinator, Juan Morales announced that the shipment of Meléndez’s book was received Feb. 10, just in time for Meléndez’s reading.
Blood Drive gives CSU-Pueblo a Chance to Save Lives

A blood drive, which invited students, faculty and staff to donate blood for use in Colorado hospitals, was held in the Occhiato University Center’s Heartwell Lounge at Colorado State University-Pueblo on Thursday, Jan. 28.
The Bonfils Blood Center blood drive was from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and had three beds that remained filled throughout the day, as 30 donors gave blood. Each donor gave 470 milliliters of blood for a total of about 30 pints donated, according to Rudy Sosa, regional manager of Bonfils.
