Box City raises awareness of homeless youth

Many CSU-Pueblo students can now say they have lived in boxes; even if it was just for a night as the President’s Leadership Program’s junior class hosted their first Box City event Nov. 13.
More than 50 students attended the event to raise awareness of the homeless youth living in Pueblo County.

Tayler Zinanti, whose first year on the dance team was in 2008, knows that being on the dance team can be pretty fun yet consist of a lot of hard work at the same time.
However,when Zinanti, a 20-year-old senior mass communications major first came to CSU-Pueblo, she wasn’t even sure if she wanted to try out for the dance team.
The CSU-Pueblo wrestling team kicked off the 2011 season with its annual Red-Blue Intra-squad meet Wednesday night at Massari Arena. The Blue team won a close decision 34-25 over the Red team.

The College Assistant Migrant Program, now in place at CSU-Pueblo, was designed to provide assistance to students who are migratory or seasonal farm workers, or children of such workers, get into college.
Filmmakers were given 24 hours to submit a film adhering to the theme provided. There were six categories in which one could place.
CSU-Pueblo mass communication students and professors took part in the event.
