  • The Black Panthers- an autobiographical recolection

In the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, the name Black Panthers struck fear in the hearts of most “white Americans.” In their blind fear, it was easy to attach all sorts of negative traits to what they didn’t know or didn’t understand. Never mind that both whites and blacks put one leg at a time in their pants or skirts. Never mind that they both felt hunger, pain and thirst, and loved their kids with the same emotions.

  • Critical review of art exhibit now showing

The exhibit “Thanks 4 Ur Info!” details the fragmented relationship between modern communication and the compulsory attitude we have grown to embrace in exchanging conversations and ideas with one another. Five artists are shown, including Brian Buckbee, Jenna Kuiper, Boris Osterov, Rachel Perry Welty and Kyle Pierce. The works explore a portrayal of loneliness, abandoned memories and the need to embrace our past as a determining current in our future.
The exhibit runs until December 6th and is open from 10:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

  • No such things as a ‘free lunch’

Many Colorado State University-Pueblo students are lured into events on campus by the offer of free appetizers or meals, yet this is not maintaining their attention for the presentation or event that follows.

Recently, at the Hispanic Heritage Month Dinner held on Oct. 7, many students were seen leaving before guest speaker, Juliana Aragon-Fatula, began her presentation, which began after guests finished their meals.

  • ‘The Final Destination’ – finally – we hope

Like most horror franchises that continue to go on, the “Final Destination” franchise needs to be laid to rest. The death scenes have become predictable and it has lost its shock value.

  • Priscilla Renea is the “apple” of new summer music

If it gets tiring listening to the same artists over and over, here’s something to add to a summer soundtrack.
Priscilla Renea, a driven singer/songwriter since she was little, has captured hearts with her own take on pop and soul. Renea sounds like Rihanna who decided to take up playing the guitar as she sings about [...]
