September 5th, 2007 by Eric SalagovicCSU-Pueblo welcomes a new staff member this semester, Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services, Sheri R. Vigil (pronounced /vi-gel/).
Vigil has been employed for the last 11 years at Regis University in Denver, maintaining a solid background of Conference Services and work with a variety of programs across the Regis campus and within the community.
As the Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services, Vigil’s duties include overseeing the numerous functions of the Occhiato University Center including Belmont Residence Hall, the Columbine Cafe, La Cantina, the Aspen Room Restaurant, the Pavilion, Catering Services, conferences, the Campus Bookstore and the Underground. Other services under her supervision include the sales of parking passes and student identification. While technically in charge, she states that she doesn’t like being considered the boss, preferring to work with people as opposed to ordering them around.
When the opportunity to work for CSU-Pueblo presented itself, Vigil accepted the position not only as a step forward for her career, but also as a personal challenge, stating that “if you fail to learn new things, you become stagnant.”
Vigil’s qualifications include a BS in Business Administration Management from the University of Denver and an MA in Liberal Arts from Regis University.
Sheri R. Vigil’s duties began on Sept. 3.
