Education reform discussion comes to campus

October 30th, 2007 by CSU-Pueblo External Affairs

Pueblo area residents are invited to attend a discussion on education reform, Conversation 2007: Shaping Educational Excellence in Colorado, with Rep. Buffie McFayden at CSU-Pueblo on Nov. 8 from 6-8 p.m. The event will take place in Hoag Hall.

Whether you have children in school, are paying off student loans or hiring local employees, you have some connection to Colorado’s education system.

Legislators around Colorado are hosting dialogues on education with their constituents to allow policymakers to gather qualitative information about what Coloradoans value and expect from our state education system.

This series of community meetings, “Conversation 2007: Shaping Educational Excellence in Colorado,” will allow legislators to learn what Coloradans value and expect from our state education system.

The effort is intended to generate information that elected officials, the Governor’s P-20 Education Coordinating Council and other stakeholders can use to shape the future of education in Colorado.

Topics to be discussed include the goal or goals of public education, the kind of educational system needed to meet those goals and the priorities necessary to build that system.
