Students can also learn about careers within their preferred majors at the fair.

Career Center Internship Coordinator, Tanya Baird said the Career Center is expecting 55 employers to attend the event.

Employers such as the Colorado State Patrol, the FBI, Sherwin-Williams, and Target have already committed to attending the fair, Baird said.

Career Center Director Michelle Gjerde said employers attending plan to hire for part-time and full-time jobs, as well as temporary positions.

A list of the participating employers is available in the Career Center which is located in OUC 103. The list is also available online at www.colostate-pueblo.edu/careercenter.

Gjerde said students should bring copies of their résumé and dress professionally if they plan to attend the event.

If students need assistance in writing a professional and appropriate résumé for potential employers they can attend a free ten minute résumé critique session.

The next session will be on Sept. 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the OUC Great Hall. During the session, students can share their résumés with Career Center staff and local human resource professionals.

If students are unable to attend the critique session, they can make an appointment with the Career Center for résumé assistance and further personal career coaching.

In addition to job search assistance, the Career Center provides a dining etiquette training session called Dining for Success.

The event is scheduled for Nov. 7, at the Pueblo Convention Center located on 320 Central Main St.

Registration for the evening will begin at 5:45 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

The training session is available for 200 students by a first come, first serve basis. Students must call the Career Center at 549-2980 to a make a reservation.

This event is designed for junior, senior and graduate students attending CSU-Pueblo who are preparing to enter the career world.

Students will experience a six course meal with instruction throughout the evening. The Career Center has designed this event to help students learn proper etiquette when dining with professional personnel.

The Career Center has invited such guests as University President Joseph Garcia, CEO Dan DeRose of DD Marketing and CSU-Pueblo alumnae and President of Wells Fargo bank, Priscilla R. Lucero.

There will be a total of 27 prominent community leaders present at Dining for Success.

Gjerde said she highly encourages students to attend all of the career training events in order to prepare for their professional future.

“I want students to get more involved in their approaching careers,” Gjerde said.

Students also have the opportunity to create an online résumé and profile at www.myinterfase.com/colostate-pueblo/student.

CSU-Pueblo students can log in to the Career TWolves system cost free.

The Career Center approves students and employers who register for the program daily.

After an approval is received employers can post job listings for students. Employers can also contact students about jobs, internships or Co-ops if a student chooses for his or her profile to be public, Gjerde said.

Different companies and organizations that are interested in recruiting at CSU-Pueblo visit campus weekly, Gjerde said. The next company visiting campus will be Vector Marketing on Oct. 1, from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the OUC Great Hall.

For more information students can visit the Career Center website to learn more about the career training system and find a listing of all current and future events.

Gjerde said students should also stop by the Career Center to find informational material on scholarships, internship availability, interviewing advice, and graduate school.
