Basketball season opens with Al Kaly tournament

Come out and “back the pack” at the 29th annual Al Kaly Shrine Basketball Tournament where the men and women basketball teams start their season.

Tipoff for both teams starts Friday Nov. 16 at Massari Arena. The men play West Texas A&M at 7 p.m. and the women play California Baptist that at 5 p.m. The tournament continues into Sat. Nov. 17 as well.

The tournament includes Midwestern State, West Texas A&M, Oklahoma Christian, Western State, California Baptist and Emporia State.

The CSU-Pueblo Athletic Department is asking all fans attending to bring canned foods to the tournament for the “ThunderWolves to Dunk Hunger” food drive. Anyone that brings canned food will pay $3 for admission. The canned food must be presented at the ticket office to receive the discount.
