Women’s cross county finishes 10th in Shootout
September 30th, 2007 by CSU-Pueblo Sports InformationSenior Lauren Dunsmoor turned in a time of 21 minutes, 47 seconds at the Rocky Mountain Shootout 5.8K at the University of Colorado campus today.
Dunsmoor’s time was the best individual time by a collegiate Division II runner.
Dunsmoor, who finished third overall in a field that combined collegiate runners from both Division I and Division II schools, had 20 seconds on her closest Division II competitor, Anne Ronoh of Western State.
Dunsmoor’s time was 47 seconds off of the event’s overall champion, CU’s Sara Vaughn, who finished with 21 minutes even.
Dunsmoor’s top finish did little to help out the Pack’s overall team score, finishing 10th out of 11 teams at the meet. Teammates Lindsey Herrera, Rebecca Packard, Vanessa Martin and Elizabeth Grossman each managed to finish the race and allow the CSU-Pueblo women’s cross country team to post team points in a meet for the first time this season.
The Pack runners will take to the trails next Saturday in Fort Hays, Kan. at the Fort Hays Tiger Invitational.
