Letter from the Editor

Dear readers,

The Flair Affair, a weekly series designed to showcase campus personnel and their talent, will soon be offered as part of CSU-Pueblo TODAY’s online publication.

Char Gray, a senior majoring in mass communications at Colorado State University-Pueblo and video editor for CSU-Pueblo TODAY, is the brainchild behind “The Flair Affair.” Gray said it was her love for comedy and talent that inspired the idea for the program.

Gray recalled talk show host Art Linkletter who years ago hosted the popular television series “Kids Say the Darndest Things.” Linkletter asked questions of children between 3 and 8 years-old who usually provided a comical response.

Gray also said she loves to watch people show off their talent, and thought combining comedy and talent would make for an interesting program. Everyone loves watching talented people, Gray said, and that this program offers something for everyone.

News editor Nikki Martinez and videographer Monique Garcia, also mass communications majors, are the show’s host and videographer, respectively. Wendy Fidler, who graduated last May with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications (and who herself is a comedian), is the show’s producer. Zak Bratton, who is assisting online editor, created the business card design.

Fidler will write articles promoting the program, its host and behind-the-scenes activities. First airing is tentatively scheduled for July at a date to be announced. To learn more, contact Gray at sky@representative.com.

Again, I find myself saying that through your talented contributions, you can add personality and give our infuse personality into our product and enhance readership. As always, CSU-Pueblo TODAY reserves the right to edit material for Associated Press style and taste.

CSU-Pueblo TODAY values your input as to how we might improve our online service, so let us hear from you. I have no doubt you know someone who would like to share their talent with the community.
