Win prizes at Focus the Nation
January 29th, 2008 by Today StaffThe TODAY campus newspaper will give out prizes in the OUC Ballroom during the Jan. 31 Focus the Nation event sponsored by Students for Environmental Awareness. Stop by for a chance to win free pizza or free salon services.Focus the Nation is a national intergenerational dialogue on global warming solutions for America. Presentations about global warming and related topics will be held on the hour every hour from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m.
Free breakfast and free lunch will be served on a first come first served basis. There will be informational booths as well as commercial booths set up by local businesses interested in global warming.
At 3 p.m., CSU-Pueblo President Garcia; Craig Cason, director of facilities management, and Hector Carrasco, dean of the College of Education, Engineering and Professional Studies, will speak about the green initiatives on campus.
At 3:30 p.m. a round-table discussion with Pueblo City Council members, Pueblo County Commissioners, the District Attorney, and the Pueblo County Health Department will be held regarding global warming solutions for America focusing on what Pueblo can do.
A screening of the documentary “Revolution Green: A True Story of Biodiesel in America” will be shown at 5:30 p.m. in the Life Science auditorium.
To kick off the event a live webcast called the 2% Solution, co-produced by the National Wildlife Federation and aired by Earth Day Network, will be held in the Life Science auditorium at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30.
