Foster a Dream Project comes to Pueblo college campuses

The Foster a Dream Project, a project that focuses on unaccompanied or homeless youth in Pueblo, is hosting an essential needs drive on National TRiO Day, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m.

It will take place at the Washington Children’s Center where the people associated with the project will distribute the items collected for the youth.

The idea behind Foster a Dream Project is to bring awareness to the Pueblo community about the problems its youth face. CSU-Pueblo and Pueblo Community College are the two colleges that are sponsoring the event. Their goal is to show these youths the importance of having an education after high school.

The items they are collecting for this drive are: pens, paper, sleeping bags, backpacks, water, gift certificates for taxis, and other personal hygiene items. These items can be dropped off at the two college campuses.
