With the start of another academic year, the Colorado State University-Pueblo Alumni Association will be gathering to bring together members to enhance the relationship between the university and the community says Director of Alumni Relations Tracy Samora.

All benefits offered from the career center are free and include resource materials that can be used for job postings and employer literature. Advising and career coaching can also be scheduled by appointment by contacting Michelle Gjerde at 719-549-2512.

The CSU-Pueblo Alumni Association will also open up membership to students in time for the start of the spring semester.

“The benefits of joining the alumni association is it keeps the students engaged with the university through volunteerism and if possible financially,” Samora said. “Student members also are given the opportunity to speak to past alumni and network through them for internships or job opportunities.”

Alumni members are invited to enjoy discounted membership rates at the rec center for only $40 per month and will be able to use all the facilities including the swimming pool. Spouses of alumni are also invited to use the facilities for an additional $35 per month.

The library is offering their services to alumni with either a public library card or the purchase of a $5 library card. Perks include four items checked out at a time and the ability to print. Microsoft Office is available on all library computers.
